The Bellagio: Las Vegas, Nevada | Limestone Thin Stone Veneer Panels

thin lightweight stone veneer panels at Bellagio

Architect: POLLACK Architecture | Contractor: Cosmopolitan Stone

The renowned Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas is home to the first Cirque du Soleil-commissioned Richard MacDonald Studio. GPI provided over 13,000 square feet of WAFER-Stone™ limestone imported from Israel for thin stone panels used in wall cladding throughout the studio located at the entrance to the 'O' Theatre. GPI also produced the limestone in solid stone segments as well as with a fiber-cement backing for various areas requiring highly-customized, pre-fabricated stone. With only seven days allowed for construction of the entire studio, GPI's thin stone panels and precision-cut solid stone permitted stone setters to complete the project without the need for structural steel supports or cumbersome handling equipment; panels were simply adhered to the wall.

The result: lightweight stone panels allowed for the installation of over 13,000 square feet of stone in less than 10 days.
