Cafe Design Takes Simple Spin on Surface and Lighting Materials
The words “integrated surfaces and light” fly around our office so much that we made it our tagline. And while the phrase has a specific meaning to our work in backlighting translucent surfaces,yesterday during lunch this Pinterest image sparked a conversation about other ways that designers manipulate surfaces and lighting.
In this compact space design for a cafe in Poland, simplicity is drama. A bold wall surface design of chocolate brown falls from the ceiling plane, while milky white lighting pendants reinforce the “melting” aesthetic.
A few simple moves in the design of surface and lighting allowed the interior designers at Brokat to create a branded space. The wall treatment and lighting fixtures work integrally to strengthen the visual impact of the space.
