Thursday Salute to Originals: The Paris Sky Trampoline
Suspended beneath the magnificent dome of Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann, a neon-hue, rainbow disc floats above shoppers in Paris, France.
This whimsical public installation is more than a colorful decoration, though. The fun-colored floating disc is also a functional playground for shoppers to play, bounce and lounge while visiting this world-famous department store.
A new favorite feature for tourists and local shoppers alike, visitors will often lay on their backs to marvel at the magnificent art nouveau style dome crafted in the early 1900s, taking a break from the expansive shopping complex.
The installation is meant to celebrate the arrival of summer and is part of the store’s Funorama initiative — a collection of “fun-zones” that includes old arcade games, a VR experience and even foosball.
What better way is there to welcome summer than with a giant, rainbow trampoline in the sky?!
This Thursday, we’re saluting Galeries Lafayette and their new whimsical installation in the flagship Paris store. The architecture of the space is already a spectacle, and this celebration of summer is a truly fun addition for grownups and kids alike. The structure will be on display through June 9, 2019.
