The JB Duke Hotel is a contemporary luxury hotel on the campus of Duke University in Durham, NC. Designed by Looney & Associates, the interiors are wrapped in warm neutral tones and accented by the deep blue hues of Duke University’s palette. At the main guest reception space, GPI created a pair of custom backlit onyx desk panels. To highlight the monolithic geometry, careful structural engineering eliminates all shadows and the stone was carefully mapped to wrap around edges continuously. Marking the check in point, hotel visitors are greeted by an elegant backlit onyx statement that reflects the modern hospitality of the region.
