The spacious lobby at the 101 Seaport office building recalls the flowing form of the Boston Harbor. As the scale of the lobby compresses and fluctuates with the wavy vertical partition, a custom backlit glass feature wall punctuates the end of the first floor entry sequence. At a sizable 13 feet tall, the mid-height joint was custom designed to support two rows of glass while eliminating all evidence of structure and lighting interruptions. Programmed to change colors at the push of a button, the LED backlighting is adaptable for for special occasions, but mainly remains blue in tribute to its site near the waterfront.
