Jaw-dropping. The backlit onyx walls in this Beverly Hills private residence are unlike anything else. Massive DURA-Lite glass-backed stone panels designed by Joan Behnke & Associates Inc. clad a hallway that flanks a central bowling lane. Though it looks clean and monolithic from the front, the build was complex: two different existing wall types meant two separate engineered support systems. Despite that, the finish looks seamless. The scale and minimal design let the onyx truly shine.
