Tom Lawrence | Founder + Principal Tom Lawrence is the Founder + Principal of GPI Design, a Cleveland based design-build firm that creates one-of-a-kind backlit features for commercial and residential interiors and exteriors. With a start over 20 years ago sourcing natural stone, after noticing gaps in coordination and seeing the same pitfalls over and over again, Thomas coupled his knowledge of natural translucent materials with lighting, providing a turnkey approach to executing a successful backlit feature. Over the years, he has pushed boundaries, expanded his team’s expertise, and honed GPI’s capabilities, making them the leading expert in designing, engineering, and installing backlit features of all kinds. Mitch Polly | Technical Director Mitch Polly is the Technical Engineer of GPI Design. With background as a mechanical designer, Mitch serves a critical liaison between the design and construction phases. With meticulous attention to detail and a critically thinking mind, he breaks down shop drawings into manufacturable components and uncovers (and fixes!) potential conflicts before they can ever become an issue. His wealth of knowledge and experience also make him invaluable on site, where he assists with field measures, installations, and lighting diagnostics and programming. Fallon Korinko | Studio Director Fallon is the Studio Director of GPI Design. After graduating from Ohio University with a degree in interior design, she started as an intern at GPI and eventually grew into the Studio Director position where she now guides and manages projects through the design and engineering phases. She oversees the testing of surfaces, works with our designers and engineers define the nitty gritty details of our systems, and ensures the project stays on track while still meeting – and exceeding – the client’s design intent and expectations.
